There's always Deldrimor story in Front of us
Big things come in small packages.
In a way at least. This map is incredible. It allows us to see where our dwarf friends flourished and perished. The cliffs they mined and the forge they guarded are concealed within this map.
Thunderhead Peaks was once the Dwarven Capital, and it is still believed to be the home of the Avicara Tengu - A race of white feathered Tengu warriors that inhabited the Shiverpeaks of the original Guild Wars. For now at least, they appear to be either hiding or extinct, as no Tengu can currently be found within the Zone.
The map is located to the east of the Steamspur mountains, and it bears Kralkatorrik's fateful Scar across its land. Because of this, the zone is riddled with branded and racked with frequent and deadly storms.
As you can imagine, the Priory pounced upon the map and you can find many Priory members and Skritt working together to uncover the Shinies hidden in the ruins.

There are 12 areas within this Zone:
- Deldrimor Ruins
- Dredgeways
- Dwarven Catacombs
- Hundar Pike
- Ice Floe
- Symphony's Haven
- The Auditorium
- The Forge
- The Grotto
- The Howling Cliffs
- The Weeping Crest
- Thunderhead Keep
Whilst this may seems like a slight challenge to get to everything in this zone, I recommend exploring it without rushing. There is so many little details snuck here and there that it would be a shame to simply rush past them and miss.
This map covers so much of the Deldrimor Front, a location we have not been able to visit since the original Guild Wars. So much of it has changed from the original that it is hard to compare the once bustling and vibrant city with the ruins we now roam. It has been slyly winking at us from where it was nestled slightly off centre, between several other completed maps. It was the one place we were unable to enter, despite our best efforts - a place of mist and legend, where all we knew was that once forges burned and the very best weapons were forged by determined blacksmiths.
We now have our chance to explore this once forbidden location, and it was worth the wait. So get out there, unleash your inner Skritt, and find Ironhammers treasure !
(And sit your butt on his chair. It's remarkably comfortable.)
And whilst I'll fully admit that most of the areas on this page are out of bounds - and as I haven't finished the story yet, I don't know if you can get to the amazing room with the crossbows, [Edit: Yes you can! But not like we can see them here! There's items in these rooms you cannot see in the story!] there's still so many things to see. |

Dwarven History
According to Guild Wars Lore, most of the Deldrimor Dwarves worshipped but one god, known as "The Great Dwarf" -
"Every Dwarf knows the tale of the Great Dwarf and the Great Destroyer. While most Dwarves with any spiritual leanings still believe their race was forged upon Anvil Rock by the Great Dwarf in an age before men, few actually put much stock in the myth of a titanic struggle between their Dwarven deity and a mystical creature of vast destructive power and limitless evil. That all changed, however, when the Tome of Rubicon, an ancient Dwarven artifact supposedly created by the Great Dwarf himself, was found buried deep within Sorrow's Furnace.
After quashing repeated attempts by the Stone Summit Dwarves to retrieve the tome and call forth the Great Destroyer, High Priest Alkar led a group of excavators into the rubble of the Stone Basilica to bring the ancient relic home. In his translations, Alkar has found that the tome contains more than just an account of the earliest days of the Dwarven race. It also provides specific details about a final conflict between the Dwarves and minions of the Great Destroyer who will "swarm up from the bowels of the earth and spread across the world." The battle between the Great Dwarf and the Great Destroyer is fated to play out once again, it seems. The tome does not foretell the entirety of the outcome, nor predict a victor. It only mentions that the Dwarves will be "forever transformed" by this final battle.

The Dwarves believe that when the Great Dwarf walked upon Tyria, He founded Anvil Rock to be his Forge, and then the Anvil of Dragrimmar to craft weapons as strong as the dwarves themselves, and shields as unbreakable as their will.
The Great Dwarf dought the Great Destroyer and in order to defeat the monster, he stole its name and sealed it within the confines of the Tome of Rubicon. The very same Tome states that one the Great Destroyer arises, so shall the Great Dwarf to continue their battle.
They believe that the Great Dwarf now rules from the Great Forge within the Rift, a place they claim Dwarves pass to upon their deaths.
The Rift, little mentioned nowadays, is mentions in the Guildwars Manuscript as:
"In the middle of The Mists is a spot where time moves neither forward nor back. It is a tear in the fabric of the cosmos, the point of perfect balance between all forces of the universe. This place is known as the Rift, and there is nothing to which it does not connect, nothing that cannot be reached from inside it. Those who have the know-how to travel across the universe through the Mists must pass through the Rift on their way to all other places. It is the center of all things."
— The Guild Wars Manuscripts"
What is curious to note however is that the Great Dwarf is not one being despite being worshiped as such. It came about when King Jalis Ironhammer - whose throne resides within Thunderhead (Yes you can sit on it!) - performed the Rite of the Great Dwarf and linked the minds of all the dwarves. This fulfilled the prophecy within the Tome of Rubicon.
It is important to note though, that no-one has seen the Great Dwarf as they have described him - as a singular being.
This information was obtained thanks to an interview within Guildmag, dated January 3rd, 2011. Please see the link below.

Let's face it though. If you were not interested in the glorious snow that festoons this zone, there's definitely at least one reason to visit !
