By Odgens hammer - What a save!
"The old LA, was (the) joined effort of Cobiath Mariner and his people; they spend whole years creating (a) city, fighting and setting (up) diplomatic agreements with other races to create (a) save heaven for ALL races.
And now it's back
And now it's back
Some of you may remember a mention of a redditor called /Kilo_s83 who was quoted as saying " I wouldn’t even be mad if Anet just reverted back to the old LA without even an explanation, just a quick update and we never talk about it openly."
Well funny thing there.
As of the last episode of Living Season 1 (which reappeared after season 5, don't question it.) we found that we suddenly had access to an item called "Lion's Pride Gizmo," which is shaped like a Black Lion Key.
This Gizmo, obtained after a grueling process of completing every single mastery for LS 1 - Anet PLEASE remove the "do X events in Y Locations, please -allows the user to be teleported back in time to relive the glory of Lions Arch.
Whilst this is sure to be confusing for new players who may not have ever seen the original Lions Arch - Heck I myself have played for 9 years and even I have only seen it being rebuilt - the feeling of standing back on the old wooden sidewalks, hearing the bustle and plying of traders of all nations, as well as the return of actual pirates to their own turf....
It feels amazing.

I have missed this beautiful level of detail
They have even removed the ability to mount and glide, to make it as authentic as possible - although happily you do not die from fall damage, which I appreciate greately considering how many times I jumped from a roof after forgetting the crossed triangle means no flying.
I was ready to be a little grumpy considering I still have the mail from Anet claiming they could not recover the old files for Lions Arch as they do not exist but... You know what? LA is back. The real LA. So screw it. I - and probably many others - am happy.
I also didn't need long to break it as you can imagine, and I have found that even though it's pretty much a direct click-and-drop of the map, they have altered it. Primarily in doing what they have for the others and tried to prevent the use of the sub-ocean.
I'm still trying to get to that part, but until then, have some of the parts I HAVE gotten to.
